A Retail Perennial Nursery Serving Wisconsin Gardeners Since 1998
About Us
Rose-Hill Gardens is a retail perennial nursery specializing in daylilies, hostas, heuchera, lilies, miniature conifers, coneflowers, hypertufa planters and the newest cultivars of perennials. We grow and display our plants on 2 ½ acres of land located in Hobart, Wisconsin just two miles west of Green Bay. We produce over 12,000 pots of high quality perennials annually and offer them to the public at reasonable prices. 20 display beds are also incorporated into the landscape in order to provide the public with a chance to view perennials in their mature stage of growth.
Our shade garden display area includes many of the 150 cultivars of Hostas that we carry as well as miniature hosta offerings that are becoming increasingly popular. Our heuchera display area showcases over 20 different cutlivars, most of which are available in pots for retail sales. We have doubled our rock garden display area which contains many miniature plants and incorporates hypertufa planters into a garden setting.
Plants raised at Rose-Hill Gardens aren’t forced along with a lot of artificial heat. This produces a plant which may take two weeks longer to be saleable, but also one that is very strong, easily adaptable to your garden, and will bloom during its normal season. We are open to reserving plants for customers early in the season and willing to hold them for up to two weeks.

FAQs
How do you raise your plants?
We raise all our plant material on site at Rose-Hill Gardens. Most plants are grown in one of our three large cold frames. None of these cold frames are heated which in turn produces plants that are strong and compact and which will bloom during their normal bloom season for this area. Plants will be in their prime beginning mid-May and should remain so throughout the growing season. Plant selection remains good throughout the season although a few newer items may sell out early.
What kinds of payments do you accept?
We will gladly accept personal checks, cash, and credit cards.
Can I open a wholesale account?
All sales at Rose-Hill Gardens are retail as we do not accept wholesale accounts.
Can I buy your plants over the internet?
We do not do sales over the internet although you may reserve plants for pick-up by sending us an email.
Can I reach you by phone?
You may contact us by phone (920) 869-2540 during extended hours of 8 am to 8 pm seven days a week.
Can I visit your display beds?
Our 27 display beds are open for public viewing during regular hours of operation only.
Do you guarantee plants over winter?
We do not guarantee our plants over the winter but are happy to replace any plant that fails to perform in a satisfactory manner for you during its initial growing season. Please contact us prior to Oct. 1st.
Can we tour your center with our garden club?
We gladly welcome tour groups or gardening clubs to visit the gardens. If your group is planning a visit we would appreciate prior notice so we can adjust our staffing and also have some refreshments on hand for you. An organized guided tour of the gardens is available if arrangements are made in advance. Evening hours are also available with prior notice.
Can you come to my home to give me a consultation?
Our limited staffing does not permit us to do any labor or consultation off site. Although we don’t draw up ‘elaborate’ garden design plans for customers, we are more than happy to give you some suggestions based on a sketch of your flower bed that you bring in to us. Calling ahead of time to arrange a convenient time for this is appreciated. Often a meeting just before or after regular business hours works best.
Can I buy gift certificates at Rose-Hill Gardens?
Gift certificates are always available at Rose-Hill Gardens for any amount. Feel free to contact us during the off season as well at (920) 869-2540. We will gladly send out a gift certificate after receiving your personal check. We’ve had many requests for certificates as Christmas or birthday gifts. Our certificates do not have an expiration date and a detailed set of directions to the garden will be included.
Where is Rose-Hill Gardens licensed?
Rose-Hill Gardens operates with a State of Wisconsin Nursery License and is therefore inspected by the Department of Agriculture on an annual basis to ensure that our retail plants meet all of their guidelines before being offered to the public.
